Labview - based GUI for DPOAE Signal Estimation

چکیده

A Labview-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) implementation of a technique of estimation of distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) is presented. The purpose of this work is to make the estimation method available to all users, independent of their level of expertise in signal processing. The basis of the work is a nonlinear adaptive algorithm developed by Dr. A. K. Ziarani. Three units of such an algorithm are employed as well as some accessorial signal processing modules, such as band-pass filters and low-pass filters. A lower-level sinusoid (i.e. the DPOAE component) is separated from the two stimuli within the background noise. The performance of this Labview implementation is evaluated using both simulated data and recorded clinical data, both of which show that the DPOAE signal could be quickly and clearly estimated. The user-friendly GUI has been developed. The users of the GUI can easily select the type of the input data and enter the corresponding parameters following the interactive instructions; the extracted DPOAE level is then plotted. The GUI is good for practical applications and can easily be modified for further extension.
